What is Pluto?

Pluto is an API for any web data. Embed it in your app to authenticate users, share data and perform actions on their behalf for any site on the internet.

How does Pluto work?

There are 3 major components to Pluto:

  • Embedded Automations, which power automated actions for users
  • Pluto Frame, which is an integrated component for adding authenticated Embedded Automations into your application
  • Pluto Functions, which can execute arbitrary JS functions to retrieve and compute over data

Pluto runs on secure infrastructure and uses best-in-class encryption. Embedded Automations and Functions receive a signed attestation of correct execution from our secure infrastructure, which can be verified locally.

What applications can be built using Pluto?

Pluto can be used in any application that benefits from the automation of user actions. Pluto can also be used to procure user data from any target server on the internet, with user consent and in a fully-encrypted manner.

We are working with several early design partners — some of their applications are:

  • User-owned data wallets
  • Curated social experiences based on historical user data
  • Alternative price feeds for automated risk models
  • Permissionless onramping of funds onto Ethereum
  • Automated transfers and trading of domain name registrars

Who is building Pluto?

Pluto is built by a small team of engineers and operators from places like Stripe, Aztec, Y Combinator, Hubspot, and Uber. You can see more about our team on the Team page of our website.

We’ve built products across tech for the past several years, and we understand the pain points developers face when building applications that rely on authenticated data. Now, we’re building a company to help application developers build the next generation of novel, useful internet applications.

We’re backed by thoughtful, experienced investors, including Geometry, Nascent, Variant, Figment Capital, and Robot Ventures.
